Congratulations on being awarded the South Dakota Freedom Scholarship! The 2025-2026 scholarship year is now closed.
Instructions for the 2026-2027 academic year will be emailed to your university email in June 2026. A brand-new portal is under construction for you right now.
Next Steps

Click on the link in the email from the South Dakota Community Foundation. Once redirected, click on Register a New Account and choose an individual account when prompted. For your username, use the same email address at which you received this email. After you click Register, go to your email and verify the AkoyaGo account you just created. As you create a new user account with your email address, make sure there are no typos. Proceed through the screens slowly and allow time for your phone or computer to process what you are typing before closing or navigating away (at least 10+ seconds).

Once registered and verified, click on Opportunities on the top of the page. Click View to advance to the Freedom Scholarship paperwork. Click Apply on the right side of the page. From here you will have the have two options:
“Yes” to receive the Freedom Scholarship and proceed to complete the paperwork. Choose 2025-2026 as your enrollment year and click Submit.
“No” to decline the scholarship offer. If you choose this, no further steps are required.

An email from adobesign@adobesign.com will be sent one minute after submitting. Be sure to check your Spam and/or Junk folder if it doesn’t arrive in a timely matter. This email will contain the Student Scholarship Agreement Packet Paperwork. You will need to complete and submit the marked portions on all pages, after which you will receive an electronic copy via email. Review fields carefully. Retain your copy for future reference.

One minute after you have completed the packet, you will receive another email from adobesign@adobesign.com. This email will contain the Final Disclosure, which gives you until midnight on the third day after receiving it to cancel the Freedom Scholarship. You will sign this form in acknowledgement of obtainment and that’s it! You’re all set!
Keep these documents in a secure location for the future.
Know that disbursement of scholarship funds takes a few more days after paperwork completion.
